The Dillon Ranger District is the local office of the US Forest Service in Summit County, and is part of the White River National Forest. With more than 10 million visitors per year, the White River is the most-visited recreation forest in the country. 75% of the land in Summit County is managed as part of the National Forest system, and provides multiple opportunities for enjoying the outdoors including more than 450 miles of multi-use recreational trails. Friends of the Dillon Ranger District maintains and improves some of the most popular trails in Summit County.
