Friends of the Dillon Ranger District (FDRD) is a non-profit organization that partners with the Dillon Ranger District by leveraging the power of volunteers to ensure that the National Forest lands enjoyed by millions of people of each year are not negatively impacted by their popularity. By volunteering with FDRD or supporting us with a financial contribution, you benefit the lands that make Summit County a world-class destination.
With over 60 projects a year, FDRD volunteers contribute thousands of hours maintaining and improving trails, planting trees, pulling invasive weeds, educating forest visitors and much more. We are one of the more active locally-based outdoor stewardship organizations in the country, and were recognized as the US Forest Service’s Volunteer Program of the Year in 2010.
