| A big thanks goes out to our volunteers who joined in on the fun at our Trail Restoration Day. These 25 volunteers and 3 Forest Service personnel generated 63 hours of volunteer stewardship for our National Forest lands. They took down all illegal structures at Sapphire Point, providing a safer and more natural experience for the users of this popular trail. Following the service project, FDRD hosted a Volunteer Celebration Picnic, celebrating the 126 volunteers who generated 500 hours of stewardship during FDRD’s 2005 summer season. The following volunteers were recognized as FDRD Volunteers of the Year - Maggie Cox (Super Friend), Kenny Van Howe (Super Service Project Volunteer), and Marilyn Fenner (Super Service Project Food Solicitor). A special thanks goes out to our sponsors - Backcountry Brewery, City Market, Safeway, Steaming Bean, Keystone Resort, and Wilderness Sports - for providing us with the great food spread and the “out”door prize giveaway! Remember to support our sponsors on your next gear, food and beverage runs!
With sincere thanks,
Guff Van Vooren Executive Director Friends of the Dillon Ranger District |
