| It was another terrific day of FDRD volunteerism! With the help of 25 volunteers and 6 Forest Service personnel, we were able to generate 113 volunteer hours, valued at $2,000 (average hourly rate provided by the Department of Labor). We cleared fuels on approximately one acre, generating 45 slash piles. By clearing this area, we helped to decrease the risk of fire in the wildland urban interface in the Wildernest area of Summit County.
With sincere thanks,
Guff Van Vooren Executive Director Friends of the Dillon Ranger District |
