Hello Friends of FDRD,

The month of March marks “turning the corner” towards our summer season.  We’ll spend these next few months planning and organizing for a busy and fun 2006 volunteer season.  This behind-the-scenes work will provide the foundation for a successful summer of stewarding our local National Forest lands.  Our first event, FDRD’s 2nd Annual Party, is on March 27, and we invite you all to join us for the evening.

Read on to learn more about the evening and how to get involved in our 2006 events.

If you have any feedback, suggestions, and ways to improve this newsletter, please share them with me.  ENJOY!!

WHAT’S HAPPENED

Volunteers For Colorado (VOC)/FDRD Crew Leader Training – VOC recently approached FDRD with the possibility of co-hosting an annual crew leader training in Summit County.  Last month, we decided it would be an excellent opportunity for both partners involved, as well as for Summit County and local organizations with trail crew needs.  July 7, 8, and 9 marks this summer’s crew leader training.  Both individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate in this exciting training and education opportunity.  Details about the training will be forthcoming.  FDRD is very excited to grow our partnership with VOC and looks forward to similar collaborative efforts with other local organizations.  Contact Guff Van Vooren if you are interested in this opportunity.
